Wellbeing Centre and Counselling

College Counsellors

While lighting the path for our students is a role we all share, there are times when our students and families benefit from the assistance of our highly qualified and experienced counselling team.

91pro视频 Counsellors oversee our Student Wellbeing Centre and provide a space for our students to be present, mindful, get away from the business of school life and connect with students and staff.

In addition to delivering programs to small groups of students, our College Counsellors also work one-on-one with students and their families to provide a triage service and the necessary support and strategies to face different issues and challenges on their journey.  The depth of their experience, and diversity in skillset, means that they are equipped and well versed to respond to a multitude of needs including:
鈥 Grief and loss
鈥 Stress and anxiety management
鈥 Organisational and study skills
鈥 Building positive relationships
鈥 Friendship issues
鈥 Family matters
鈥 Conflict resolution
鈥 Positive mental health and emotional wellbeing

These programs are designed to assist students in the growth and development of vital skills in areas such as confidence, teamwork, resilience, independence and building positive relationships.  Programs include:
鈥 Anxiety and Stress Management Programs
鈥 Art Therapy Programs
鈥 Social skills programs
鈥 Seasons for Growth 鈥 an innovative, evidence-based change, loss and grief education program that draws on the metaphor of the seasons to understand the experience of grief.

College Psychologist

We believe that learning and wellbeing are intricately linked.  As such, we are fortunate to have a College psychologist to support students to achieve academic success, psychological health and social and emotional wellbeing. Our psychologist provides cognitive and educational testing and assessment. They seek to understand how our students learn and work to find ways to improve learning outcomes.  A key focus of their work is to investigate how students process emotional, social and cognitive stimuli and they make assessments based on the student鈥檚 reactions to stimuli.  They use this analysis to identify learning, social and behavioural issues that impede learning.

In addition, they work with students to identify strengths and weaknesses, help them to tap into their existing resources, and build on strategies to overcome challenges and improve performance both in the classroom and in their daily living, such as stress management and building resilience and self-confidence. Our educational psychologist designs and delivers training to help our staff in the development of learning expertise as well as programs and activities to enhance student wellbeing.  They also work with students and their families to help them to understand and overcome learning and/or psychological issues, so they are able to thrive in life.
