National Reconciliation Week

This week, as we continue developing our College Reconciliation Action Plan with our working party, students and staff, we recognise National Reconciliation Week (NRW). NRW began as the ‘Week of Prayer for Reconciliation’ in 1993, supported by Australia’s major faith communities. In 1996, the Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation launched the first National Reconciliation Week. At the College, we have started engaging in several activities planned to help our students learn more about our shared histories, cultures and achievements and to explore how each of us can contribute. Tomorrow, we will gather as a whole community for our Reconciliation Liturgy, an opportunity to reflect as we continue our efforts in truth-telling, calling out racism and amplifying the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
